Slip Tables, Head Expanders and Thermal Barriers
Our range of Vibration test systems feature LDS slip tables, head expanders, and thermal barriers, provide enhanced testing capabilities for our range of medium- and high-force shakers. Our low-pressure tables and hydrostatic-bearing tables can be supplied as a combo system – or as separate slip tables for mounting on your existing vibration system.
SLIP TABLES:
A slip table typically consists of a magnesium plate sitting atop a smooth granite block, with a lubricating film in between. For testing applications requiring three individual axes, we recommend an LDS trunnion-mounted shaker and a slip table. Both are housed in a frame that connects to the shaker’s armature, enabling it to excite payloads in the horizontal position.
Applications:
- Three-axis testing, including test of complete satellite systems
- Testing of avionics and defence hardware
- Space flight simulation
- Testing of commercial and military aircraft assemblies
- Automotive component testing
- Testing of electronic assemblies
- Packaging and transport testing
LDS LPT Slip Tables (Low Pressure)

LDS HBT Slip Tables (Hydrostatic Bearing Type)
High Load. High Stability. High Precision.
LDS HBT Slip Tables are designed for heavy-duty, high-performance horizontal and multi-axis testing, making them ideal for large and complex payloads.
Using hydrostatic bearing technology, these tables provide exceptional stiffness, stability, and load capacity—ensuring accurate simulation even under extreme conditions.
Key Advantages
- Supports very large payloads (up to 12,000 kg)
- High resistance to overturning moments
- Superior dynamic stability for critical testing
- Ideal for demanding aerospace and defence applications
Applications
- Satellite and space system testing
- Aircraft structures and assemblies
- Automotive and heavy component validation
- Packaging and transport simulation
HEAD EXPANDERS
Head expanders consist of a large platform that is bolted to the shaker’s load table. They are used to increase the effective mounting surface to accommodate larger or numerous payloads, a head expander increases the capability of existing shaker systems. LDS® Head Expanders are cast from a high-strength, aerospace-grade magnesium alloy with excellent damping properties to minimize force dispersion. They have a usable frequency range from DC – 2000 Hz. To prevent corrosion, non-machined parts are painted, and machine parts are coated with lubricant.
